A snapshot of the hardware and self-hosted software running at home.

This website is hosted on my homelab, along with many other services and things I like to tinker with.

Hardware

• MINISFORUM 795S7

  64GB RAM and 2x1.5TB NVMe drives. This is the main compute box, running Proxmox for virtual machines, containers and the services that benefit from fast local storage.

• Synology DS423+

  18GB RAM, 2x1TB NVMe, 2x16TB HDD and 2x18TB HDD. This handles bulk storage, media workflows, downloads and anything that wants reliable disk space more than raw compute.

• Firewalla Gold Plus

  The edge router for the network, handling routing, firewalling and visibility over what is happening on the LAN.

• VIMIN 26 Port 2.5G PoE Switch

  The core switch for wired devices and PoE-powered gear, keeping the lab, access points and smart home panels connected.

• Sonoff NSPanel Pro

  A wall-mounted Home Assistant dashboard for quick access to common smart home controls.

  Hosted on Proxmox. Reverse proxy and automatic HTTPS in front of internal services.

  Hosted on Proxmox. Workflow automation for gluing APIs, notifications and routine tasks together.

• PostgreSQL

  Hosted on Proxmox. Relational database service for apps that need a dependable datastore.

• Valkey

  Hosted on Proxmox. Redis-compatible cache and queue backend for services that need fast ephemeral storage.

  Hosted on Proxmox. S3-compatible object storage for backups, files and app storage experiments.

  Hosted on Proxmox. Lightweight music streaming for the local music library.

• Gluetun

  Hosted on Synology. VPN client container used to route selected download traffic through a VPN.
